Portraits of Anxiety
September 21 – December 11, 2020
Combining realistic and stylized imagery, Margaret Curtis’ large scale imagery looks closely at the national culture of violence in the United States. Digging into personal and universal anxieties, the artist explores how threat intermingles with our most basic understanding of the world. Born in Hamilton, Bermuda, Curtis is a painter and visual artist currently living and working in Tryon, NC.
