You are a storyteller. You dream of developing intricate visual worlds that breathe life into each page. Learn how to create these in courses on illustrating costumed figures, portraiture, heroes and antiheroes, fairytales and children’s literature, and more.
Illustrators combine “traditional” fine arts studio practices, like painting and drawing, with refined design abilities to create visual solutions to communications projects that involve pictures and stories. Selected examples of outlets for illustrators include children’s book illustration, illustration for comic books, sequential or storyboard art, fantasy art and character design, editorial cartoonist, animator or scientific illustrator.
Students are presented with opportunities to work in a professional setting over the course of their degree, including local and regional design competitions, internships, client-driven work, and study abroad.
Our faculty are professionals with years of experience working in the industry and educating aspiring illustrators. Students gain professional experience throughout their studies with the guidance of our accomplished and recognized faculty.
